POSITION PROFILE

Title:   Committees Liaison

Length of Hire: Full Time

Department:    Committees

Supervisor: Director, Committees



Duties: 

1.    Coordinate and support the activities of a suite of AmCham Shanghai’s industry/function based committees

a)    Organize regular meetings and events for each assigned committee

b)    Prepare and coordinate meetings, scheduling and information distribution

c)    Coordinate Committee Department and Committee activity with other departments such as Business Development & Marketing, Communications & Publications, Events, and Government Relations as needed.

d)    Post and distribute meeting notes and event summaries in a timely fashion.

2.    Track issues affecting industries represented by the Committees within each Committee

3.    Support research and information gathering for Business Briefs/Position Papers and other written material related to committees and their scope

4.    Coordinate, administer and participate in surveys conducted with Committee membership, analyze and publish results in accordance with AmCham guidelines.

5.    Maintain committee web-pages; may include writing summarized or original content. 

6.    Communicate relevant operational guidelines of the Chamber, including those in the Committees Handbook to committee members and other stakeholders in preparing for committee programs and initiatives.

7.    Maintain member information for Committee development

a)    Track member s and speakers along with their respective areas of expertise

b)    Support all surveys conducted by the Department

8.    Monitor, track and answer committee e-mail for assigned committees.

9.    Support programs and initiatives assigned to the Committees Department.

10.    Any other duties as directed by the Director of Committees


SELECTION CRITERIA

1.    A self-starter with a proven capacity to work effectively (both independently and cooperatively) in a team environment coordinating between individuals and departments.

2.    Demonstrated ability and experience in working with senior business executives in a support role.

3.    Demonstrated ability and experience as a coordinator or organizer working with various internal and external stakeholders.

4.    Demonstrated ability and experience in researching, writing, processing and packaging information to meet the needs of a range of internal and external audiences and stakeholders.

5.    Well developed time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and work under pressure in an organized way to meet deadlines.

6.    Creative ability to introduce new ideas, demonstrate enthusiastic attitudes in working with people and anticipate needs in various situations.

7.    Native English speaker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Chinese language ability a plus.

8.    Demonstrated competency in statistics or survey analysis a plus.

9.    Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/Exchange and other related programs, graphic design aptitude and internet literacy a plus.

10.    Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Business, Communications or related discipline.

11.    Entry Level with at least 2 years work experience.
