Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Consul, operates the central
telephone switchboard serving all Consulate programs; controls
access to the Chancery; provides general information to all
visitors and answers general enquiries on Canada; receives and
directs mail for the Consulate; perform basic data entry
regarding consular clients; provide basic
passport and citizenship card application information to
clients; assists Administration and
Consular Sections in administrative duties; and performs other
related duties.
This job is to fill the duties on a part-time or temporary
basis. For example, when the receptionist is
on annual leave, on extended sick leave or maternity
leave. The current position is expected to be
vacant between 01 April 2012 and 31 January 2013.
Other short-term opportunities may become available.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
§
Successful completion of high school and/or relevant work history.
LANGUAGE:
§
Proficiency in English (reading, writing and speaking)
§
Proficiency in Mandarin (reading, writing and speaking)
EXPERIENCE:
§
Significant e
xperience in dealing with the public and customer/client
service.

Experience in general administrative duties.

Demonstrated experience working on a PC in a network environment.
